The Heber Valley Historic Railroad invites you to ride Utah’s only historic railroad, for a trip into Utah’s history!
Field trips days are scheduled for May 2, 3, 4, & 9, 10, and 11,  2017. Other dates may also be available. Just contact us. Your field trip on the Heber Creeper can include:

  • An introduction to Operation Lifesaver, a railroad safety course for students of all ages.
  • A brief tour of the Heber Valley Historic Railroad facilities; including the depot, and locomotive shop—where students will get a glimpse of the on-going preservation of Utah’s railroad history.
  • An on-board field trip guide who will point out historical, geographical, and geological features you may see along the route.

Our Field Trip Days can accommodate your schedule, but are usually a four (4) hour event. They will begin with the Operation Lifesaver presentation and Q&A, followed by a 90 minute train ride, and concluded with a shop tour (if applicable). The Shop Tour is only available for students 10 years of age and above, due to safety reasons we will not allow anyone under the age of 10 into the shop. To reserve your field trip please complete and fax the enclosed agreement as soon as possible. The timely submission of your agreement helps ensure seats are reserved on your preferred date. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions or need clarification.
It is our goal to make this a memorable, safe and educational experience for you and your students. Please contact us if you have any questions or need help in planning your field trip. We look forward to welcoming you and your students aboard the Heber Valley Railroad!
Note: At this time the train cannot accommodate wheel chairs. We can accommodate students in wheelchairs who can be physically carried onto the train and can ride in a seat.
